Turtle Pace

Between being gone
and Daddy being home
and
you know my focus on paperwork before that
and being neurotic for the last few months

and then the in your face realization ~
(or my friend Mary reminding me LOL!)

I HAVE SIX KIDS
(and those of you with more just shake your head due to my patheticness)

Anyhow, I walked into my house which looked like a tornado hit it

You know INSIDE!!

Of course we have only been home 4.5 days - which have been busy

BUT I gotta get this place in order
BEFORE I can really decorate for Christmas
and I dunno but
CHRISTMAS is coming!

Lets jsut say STRESS - especially when I had a snuggle bug today who wanted jsut to be cuddled.

So as with all things adoption
I realized that I wasn't going to be able to do all this
and you know feed the kids.

So I decided that slow and steady would be my current focus.

Genesis 33:14
So let my lord go on ahead of his servant, while I move along slowly at the pace of the flocks and herds before me and the pace of the children, until I come to my lord in Seir.

and you know it's ok, I can stand there staring at how nice and clean it looks and then turn around to the chaos LOL!

Ok, it doesn't even look that clean LOL!

AND jsut encase you just adopted a little
I found this perfect shirt at Wally world
cuz you know 3 days of leftover popeyes chicken has my kids revolting!

It was only $3.25 and in the baby section up to 24 mos I think!

  1. Okay, Yvette, I am now adopting this verse as mine for the next 18 years...I think that I am going at the pace of the flocks and herds (which really describes my family, by the way...). I am LOVING seeing all the photos of you guys at home! Everyone looks fantastic, and while I am sure that everything isn't "perfect' (when is it EVER?), your family is precious, and what a blessing to see all those faces together after your "leap of faith" to bring home #6. Blessings to all you guys!

  2. I know what you are saying!
It's much easier to relax when things are in place.
Why don't you just enjoy all the cleaning and decorating as a family.
I get everyone involved and not only does it go more quickly but it also makes them realize that doing things together as a family (no matter what) can be fun. Turn up the tunes and let the cleaning begin!

  3. I felt the same way when I came home! My house just needed some TLC. My hubby had done the best he could, but he took care of seven kids ALONE for two weeks. He did all he could. I LOVE the onesie!!!

P.S. I think you might need to moderate comments. I get the same ones. YUCK!!!

  4. Yes. The pressure was on when we got home from China on the 1st. The kids wanted a tree up... now! They wanted the lights on the house... now! They wanted it to begin to feel like Christmas. So, I accommodated. Even did the plates of cookies and fudge for the neighbors this weekend. Yeah, I'm a little neurotic that way! : ) Now I'm contemplating sending Christmas cards out... all 150+... yikes! Might pass on that!
